Halloween Mega Ride Takes Over Mexico City

In Mexico City, the Mega Ride of Terror is taking place as part of the Halloween festivities this October 31st. Dozens of disguised and masked motorcyclists are roaming the streets of the capital, frightening pedestrians and motorists.

The motorcyclists have gathered at locations such as the Ermita Iztapalapa road, wearing everything from clown masks to nun costumes and skull makeup to celebrate amidst the horror theme. However, law enforcement authorities have made arrests for possible abuses committed during the event.

One of the ride routes spans from the Iztapalapa metro station to Tres Marías, and more than 30 similar rides are scheduled in the city, organized by the group 'Arrancones Tláhuac' through social media, with meeting points at various metro stations, Metrobús stops, and areas in Mexico City and the State of Mexico.

The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City has deployed a security and traffic device to ensure the safety of participants and the general population. Recommendations have been issued such as using helmets and protective gear, respecting traffic rules, and avoiding dangerous maneuvers during rides.

In case of violations, fines ranging from 10 to 30 Measurement and Update Units (UMA's) will be imposed, and accidents among motorcyclists, pedestrians, and motorists are recorded during these festive rides.
